Should the OIL ever expand to a third conference, we'll have to think up 14 more unique franchise identities. Make that 13, as one lucky manager will take over the expansion franchise the Blue Falcons. For the uninitiated, a blue falcon is a euphemism for a "buddy f**ker" in Army slang. Until the OIL expands, we'll be keeping this franchise identity in our hip pocket.

2007 champion Lyndal Morgan received a custom mini-helmet to commemorate his 2007 OIL Bowl championship. His Whackers beat his arch-rival (Leal's Norman Nobodies) to conclude the second season of the OIL.
The 2014 champion Dirty Hippies helmet is still a work-in-progress because it is more complicated. We're starting with the 2014 champion and then going back to the beginning of the OIL to work our way back to 2013.
2006 champion Kevin Pyle now has a custom Lucky Enuf mini-helmet to go along with his custom championship jersey. The league is working on getting 2007 champion Lyndal Morgan a Whackers mini-helmet next.
The week 17 Liberty Bowl now has its own trophy. The Tenequer Memorial Trophy arrived this week. Overall OIL champion Christopher Trovillo will keep it until a new champion is crowned.
If you didn't know, we have an online store through CafePress. You can buy anything you want there with your team logo, including shirts, hoodies, jackets, mugs, beer glasses, mousepads, decals, stadium blankets, clocks, and more. The mark-up on each item in our store is only $1.00, so this isn't a fundraiser for the OIL. It's just a heads up so you can get great team-branded merchandise at discounted prices.
Today CafePress is advertising 20% off all orders when you use the promo code MLKWKND
The deal is valid today, Saturday, and Sunday. I would argue that offering 20% off on fake football team clothing is not exactly what Congress had in mind when they made Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday a federal holiday, but a discount is a discount. Take advantage.
Have a good weekend.
The Lawton Constitution printed a story about the 2015 reunion we're planning in August. Be sure to spread the word and direct people to our GoFundMe page. All funds raised will go towards travel, lodging, food, drink, and print materials for the 2015 reunion and OIL draft party.
The week 17 matchup between the champions of the AFC and NFC is known as the Liberty Bowl. The winner receives the Tenequer Memorial Trophy. In addition to the Tenequer, the champion will receive a custom mini-helmet from HelmetNation, LLC. The cost of a jersey for each conference champion and a helmet for the overall champion will be $10 per person each season. That (and whatever you chip in for website costs) is the extent of your dues going forward. I am working on collecting all the dues for 2014 so I can find a way to get a Dirty Hippies helmet ordered for 2014 champion Trovillo.
