With six weeks behind us, the playoff picture is beginning to take shape. As much as I hate to say it, it doesn't look like it includes my 'Mericans or Duffy's Hangovers (Cliburn-Duffy playoff games are the best). Conversely, it would take a catastrophic turn of events for Leal to miss the playoffs. His Nobodies are 5-1 and in first place. That alone should give them a playoff spot even if they go 3-4 down the stretch. Note, however, that Leal has the easiest strength of schedule so far. He may get the first or second seed but not have the look of a team poised to win it all. Let's see how they perform over the rest of the regular season. More analysis and uniform matchups after the jump.

GUTHRIE, OKLA. — The NFC's Hard Targets traded away QB Peyton Manning today, likely ending Manning's 10-year reign over the OIL. Sure, Cobb could still start him. But the days of Peyton leading teams to the playoffs are over. He's done. He'll never be what he was, in the NFL or the OIL (Peyton is currently a backup in the AFC and in danger of losing his job in the PFC as well). He finishes his OIL career with a record four championships (three NFC; one AFC). The Dogs of War won a championship with Manning in 2013, so they must be hoping to regain some of that mojo. But Cobb traded away Alshon Jeffery (who, although he missed four straight games, went off for 28 points today) for the aged QB. Does Cobb know something we don't? Not likely. When reached for comment, all Finch could say was: Peyton Through the YearsWe have our first vetoed trade in the NFC. This wasn't even close. LeSean McCoy is a big name, but he's missed two games already due to injury (and, when he's been in the lineup, he's been ineffective). Jeremy Kerley is zero percent owned. Zero. He's projected to score 2.39 points the rest of the season. And who was Leal getting in return for these two? Eddie Lacy and Julian Fucking Edelman, who is the third-highest scoring WR in the OIL. Granted, Lacy has been a disappointment so far. He is averaging nine points a game, but he started off last year slow as well. The aforementioned Jeremy Kerley has games of 0.65, 0.00, 1.60, and 0.00 to go along with one standout game of 18.75 points. What does Yahoo! think of this exchange? Well, it would net Morgan 152 fewer points over the course of the season. Did I mention that Morgan is 1-4 while Leal is 4-1? There is no plausible explanation for this trade outside of collusion. Therefore, the trade was vetoed by our third-party reviewer.
Cliburn here filling in for Cordes. What a week! The lone undefeated team got walloped while the only 0-4 team put a whoopin' on Buehre. The FDC Chiefs moved to 3-2. Manager Stephen Pennington has won two straight since taking over for Hudson when the team was 1-2. Of course, the biggest development was Nightmares RB Jamaal Charles tearing his ACL. Mitchell was number one in the league before the devastating injury sabotaged his chances in week five. Now at 4-1, the Nightmares are at a crossroads. It'll be interesting to see how he manages this. Week six previews after the jump.
'MERICA! My Arrogant Americans were staring at 1-4 going into the week five matchup with the Whackers, who were also 1-3. But did we give up? Of course not. Arian Foster, Doug Martin, Larry Donnell, and Marquess Freaking Wilson made sure we got one step closer to the playoffs. MANIFEST DESTINY, Y'ALL! Meanwhile, Bruesch stayed on top of the league standings with Leal nipping at his heels. And early season favorite Henderson and the NARCS lost, not only week five, but Jamaal Charles as well. We'll see how he adjusts his roster with JC no longer carrying the team on his back. Week six previews after the jump.
With four weeks down, only one team is left undefeated: Mitchell's Nightmares. Meanwhile, McKay is 0-4. Here are the week four results with week five previews after the jump.
A quarter of the way into the season, teams are starting to separate themselves. Bruesch beat the 'Mericans to claim the top spot in the standings (leapfrogging Henderson, who lost to the AMMODOGS). Five teams are 3-1 while another five are looking at 1-3 (with the Whackers getting their victory of the season last week). Those 1-3 teams (mine included) have their work cut out for them if they want to make the playoffs, but it can happen.
