There is a great video posted and circulating Facebook (or bookface) about our draft. Everyone is praising Justin C. Cliburn for his effort but you know what I see? I saw a man who distracted us by pretty things and lockers, so that he could drink all our beer while we weren’t there. How convenient that we weren’t allowed to drink during the draft. [Editor's Note: If that was my master plan, it didn't work. I'm 0-2.] However that did keep me from picking Ryne Sandberg in the first round for $500, right Alex? Come from Behind This is how Sawtooths manager Reed does it: he snuck up from behind and took Steel Reign manager Fitzgerald down. Sawtooths WR Eric Decker went off with a Monday night performance for the ages. Of course, Sawtooths QB Andrew Luck contributed but it took him the full four quarters to do it (Luck finished with one touchdown and four turnovers). Closest Game I don't even like this guy, not even a little. But Negligent Discharges manager Schuster gets credit for sticking with and beating the Mutinous Apes by a slight 0.15 margin. Personally, I think a Discharges victory is bad for the league, but every now and then trash floats to the top. After the win Schuster yelled in my ear, “Hell, I just wanted to give everyone a head start!” before claiming he would go on to win the league. Cocaine is a hell of a drug. Can we talk about . . . . . . the Vultures? Brosh’s team scored over 190 points and beat the tar out of Hillier. Seems to me that there might be a little bit of cheating going on; I mean, wow, what a team. Great draft and great win for Brosh Vultures vs War PonyHas War Pony had the toughest schedule to date? They cannot get a break as they take on the Vultures and their high-scoring offense. Does Venable right the ship and get a win or does War Pony start looking forward to the offseason? This game could be interesting but my money is on the Vultures. Rebel Alliance vs Warm Bodies The Rebel Alliance have faced two tough teams that got hot from the get-go. Nye’s Warm Bodies actually pulled one out on the Cocks. At 0-2 and 1-1 both of these teams need a big win. It seems the Rebels are putting up the points but their defense is often left open like the owner's back door. This game is so close that Vegas betters are not putting any money on it. Cocks vs Steel ReignThis should be called the Homer Bowl. We have a diehard Rams fan starting the Rams kicker and defense and a guy that drafted everyone from the OU team that failed in the national championship game. The Cocks went with Bradford for a second week in a row, and Peyton Manning punished him by lighting it up against the Chiefs. Steel Reign is coming off of a disappointing loss, but this is a new week and I expect them to get back on track. Cocks lose this one. Brewmasters vs Mutinous ApesLynn's Brewmasters won last week by scoring early and scoring often; Musselman and the Apes lost a nail-biter to Schuster. The Brewmasters have not yet tasted humble pie and continue to be the league bully on the trash talk page. Can the big Ape come out and knock some sense into him or are the Brewmasters going to continue to have free reign over the conference? Doughboys vs Negligent DischargesAny day Schuster loses is a good day in my book. Look, I am all for the Doughboys in this contest but I think the Discharges get it done this week against a struggling team. The Doughboys are 1-1 coming into this matchup with their only win coming on the road. But the Discharges are used to ruining things for good people. And that's why I think Schuster wins this one. Sawtooths vs HooligansAFC Commissioner Reed's Sawtooths came from behind last week to steal a victory on the shoulders of Eric Decker and Andrew Luck. Somehow they open week three as a 12-point favorite that is right; you read that right: 12 points on the road in Binger, Caddo County, Oklahoma. Can Alshon Jeffery get a start? Is he healthy this week? If so, that would help Maj. Neely tremendously. His Hooligans need all the help they can get. Is there a QB change coming this week? Tom Brady cannot sit on the bench much longer . . . well unless the Hooligans simply don't want to win. Brady or not, the Sawtooths win this one. Hiller vs RedlegsThis matchup could be really close. My Redlegs go on the road for the third straight week. They're almost all out of tall boys, but they get a per diem for traveling, right commish? Anyways as unfair as that schedule is, the Redlegs are a surprisingly 2-0 and going against a Hillier team that got blown out of the water last week. I'm not talking trash because I don't think anyone in the league would like to face the Vultures right now. Hillier is sneaky good, and went to the Thunder Bowl last year; however, he faces a tough uphill battle this year.
Good luck to all the teams. I am thinking of putting together a questionnaire to where we can learn more about each other since we haven’t spent much time together lately. I would like to do a few owners a week and email them to the owners and have them answer the questions. If this is not a good idea, just text me and let me know. I think it would be fun to do. Also, if you have funny questions that should be asked in the questionnaire then let me know and I will add them as I am working on gathering a list of questions to be asked. Stay safe brothers and good luck.
