Week Six has came and gone just like any other week, but, for the second time this season, the AFC has a four-way tie for first place. After that, teams five through 12 are only separated by point totals. The Brewmasters are in second place (20 points behind the Vultures), closely followed by Steel Reign who is in third place (trailing the second place Brewmasters by 22 points). The Sawtooths lead the 3-3 pack by 30 points. The Rebel Alliance, who started the season at 0-3, have climbed their way back into playoff contention. They currently hold the last spot for the playoffs . . . if it were awarded today. The Cocks are still winless but are currently working a few trade possibilities in the league. It will be interesting because the trade deadline is a little less than two weeks away. The Vultures scored the highest point total again this week with 175, the lowest point total was scored by the Negligent Discharges. More analysis and uniform matchups after the jump. Sawtooths vs. Rebel AllianceNo Folks, this is not a black and white scrimmage although it could easily pass for one. This is the uniform matchup of the week. Both teams have similar colors and home and away jerseys. This game more importantly will most likely cause one team to fall from playoff contention for the next week. The winner of this game will go to 4-3 while the loser will go to 3-4. Alfred Morris will get the start most likely for the Sawtooths in order to fill a bye week slot, and the Rebel Alliance will need to fill Nate Washington and a defense in order to have their roster set for the week. This game will come down to the wire. If the game is close going into Monday night then the edge will go to the Sawtooths. If it is over by the end of Sunday night then the Rebels will be victorious. Hooligans vs. VulturesThe Vultures will have to replace three of their personnel that are on a bye this week, but with the depth of their bench it should be an easy task. The Hooligans are not the favorite this week and could find themselves looking at a 3-4 record. This is a tough game for the Hooligans who are at full strength but face a team that nobody in the league wants to face. The Vultures get it done at home this week, and it could get ugly early. Doughboys vs. Warm BodiesThe over/under on this game could be a record high of 300 points scored. Both of these offenses know how to show up in a big way. The Doughboys are hanging close with the top of the pack as they are 4-2 and are taking on the Warm Bodies who are looking to gain ground and stay in contention with a playoff spot. The Warm Bodies will most likely throw the St. Louis defense back into the starting role. It will be interesting to see if Charcandrick West can get something going offensively. If not, the Warm Bodies will lose control of this game. I like the Doughboys to come out on top and move into third place this week. Mutinous Apes vs. Steel ReignUPSET ALERT. This is the upset alert of the week, a lot of predictions have the Apes winning this game closely as Steel Reign will once again have to do his best at plugging holes in his roster. I like this game. It will be interesting to see if the Apes can ruin other team's chances of securing a playoff slot while trying to climb back into contention themselves. The Apes go on the road and strike early and often while dethroning the Steel Reign from third place in the league. Cocks vs. RedlegsThis game comes just in time for the Redlegs, who are looking to rebound from a butt kicking that was given to them by Steel Reign. I like the Redlegs in this one, partly due to the fact that the Cocks have five players on byes. However, the Cocks have been active in trade rumors so it will be interesting to see what exactly takes place this week leading up to the game. If the Cocks pull off an incredible trade, then it will be interesting to see how this game shakes out. If not, then I give this game to the Redlegs. Brewmasters vs. Negligent DischargesThis game might get ugly as well. Anyone that has to replace five players (byes) is in for a tough week. We saw the Negligent Discharges falter on the offensive side of the ball last week in their loss to the Rebel Alliance, while the Brewmasters' lost in a good game against the Doughboys. The upperhand goes to the Brewmasters in this matchup, not only because of all the bye weeks, but because Schuster sucks. Thunder Bowl Re-match: |
