Down goes Frazier! . . . or Brosh in our case. The man that was thought to be untouchable went down this week by a mere two points. But, like my Dad used to say, one point is as good as a million. Congrats to Jimmy Venable for getting his first win. What is amazing about our league is that there is only one team left undefeated: the Brewmasters. There are two teams that are still winless: the Cocks and Rebel Alliance. There are seven teams that are 2-1, only separated by points scored. With the standings being so close together, this week could actually separate some contenders from the fake contenders. A lot of experts had the War Ponies going all the way, the Redlegs have won almost half of their predicted wins and the Brewmasters are surprisingly leading the league. However, it appears to a lot of sports writers that the Hilliers are on the rise. It seems that some players are starting to get planned for and schemed around by defenses, so make sure that every GM is paying attention to that. Also, it is the start of October, which means the NFL will be supporting Pink for the fight against Breast Cancer. And this is the best time in sports all year; you have: NCAA Football; the NFL; NBA; and MLB Playoffs. Enjoy the season and enjoy the weather. Hope all of you are well my brothers and have a great week. Sawtooths vs. Warm BodiesThe Sawtooths rode the back of Joseph Randle and company last week, Joseph ran like he was stealing underwear, however the Warm Bodies come in touting the same record. This game is giving the Warm Bodies the tradition 3-4 points at-home advantage that is given to most people throughout the league. This could be an interesting matchup and a future playoff matchup as well. Hooligans vs. BrewmastersCan the Hooligans knock off the cocky train known as the Brewmasters or will they get ran over? This will be an interesting matchup, it is still unsure on who the Hooligans plan on starting as the bye weeks start to have an effect on their outcome. I predict that the Hooligans fill the gaps and make this an interesting game and even overtake the Brewmasters, giving them their first loss. Doughboys vs. VulturesThe Doughboys open up as an eight-point favorite against the Vultures who are coming off their first loss. It will be interesting to see if Coach Stephen Brosh can get his guys back on track after the huge upset that they endured last week. I believe this could be a pivotal week for the Vultures but, even if they do happen to lose, they will still be a contender and a force to be reckoned with. Mutinous Apes vs. Rebel AllianceThe Alliance open up as a two-point underdog at home, nothing seems to be going right for them. However mark it down folks; this is the week that they get on the board and win. The Apes have been playing both up and down to their competition and I do not believe that anything will change this week. The Rebel Alliance will finally get a victory and finally get a sigh of relief. CLIBURN: On a side note, this is my favorite uniform matchup this week. Every element is different than the other team's (gold pants vs. white pants; white jersey vs. navy jersey; gold helmet vs. white helmet). Even the jersey striping is different. These two teams complement each other well in this matchup with two classic uniform designs. Cocks vs. War PonyThe Cocks openly admitted to a mistake made during the draft. Mistake one was taking Sam Bradford and the second mistake was drafting while hungover…or possibly still drunk. [Editor's Note: I take full responsibility for everyone still being drunk on Sunday; the reunion was just that awesome.] However, the Cocks looked like they were going to win their first game this season but saw it slip through their hands. This week they look to take on War Pony who recently knocked off the Vultures from their perch at the top of the league. This matchup has the Cocks losing by 50, as they are facing several bye weeks for their players. Does Jimmy V’s road to the Championship continue on track this week or does it derail as the Cocks get their first win? Rivalry Game: Negligent Discharges vs. RedlegsThe Redlegs got their butt kicked last week, and kicked bad by Hillier, however the Negligent Discharges come in a game behind the Redlegs and in 10th place. The Negligent Discharges have chance to take a giant leap forward in the standings by knocking off the Redlegs. The Redlegs are still unsure whether or not Drew Brees will play this week. It appears that the Redlegs will most likely go with Derek Carr. However a healthy Carr also helps out the Discharges as Amari Cooper seems to be his favorite target. Steel Reign vs. Hillier FFHillier is coming off an awesome week of hanging 150 points on the Redlegs, Steel Reign handily beat the Cocks into limp submission last week. This game will be interesting as Mathew Stafford gets the nod this week and faces a Matt Ryan who has scored at will in the second half of every game this season. The difference-makers in this game, in my opinion will come down to T.J. Yeldon and Darren Sproles. Both of these players need to have a career game to ensure victory for their team.
