The Dead Ball Foul Association was born out of the success of the OklahomIraqis and Man's Game fantasy football leagues. The OklahomIraqis League (OiL) began in 2006, and the Man's Game League was launched in 2009 to provide a similar experience for other managers. Along the way, Web sites were developed for each league, a message board was developed to serve the communication needs of each league year-round, and a weekly podcast began in June 2010 to discuss and analyze each league, as well as football in general. The Web site is currently under construction and will continue to be edited until a new logo is developed. The Web address is www.TheDBFA.com and is registered for a period of at least three (3) years.

The details of the Association are as follows:

  1. There will be no cross-ownership of teams between the OiL and MGL. This means that four teams are available for ownership in the MGL due to ownership conflicts (other vacancies exist due to unrelated attrition.)
  2. The MGL will mirror the OiL insofar as its infrastructure and bylaws. For a full explanation, go to www.OklahomIraqis.com/bylaws.html
  3. Each league will hold a championship game in week 16 of the NFL regular season. The winners of each league will face off in week 17 for bragging rights.
  4. 2011 MGL team owners will be required to pay a one-time due of approximately $10 for the purchase of a league trophy. The OiL already has a trophy, and it is to be determined whether or not the MGL will have an identical trophy.
  5. The MGL and DBFA both need new logos. The MGL currently has a logo that has been deemed detrimental to the long-term image of the league and the DBFA. This is an open call for logo design submissions. Anyone with ideas is encouraged to contact the Dead Ball Foul Show hosts on Facebook, by email (deadballfoulshow@yahoo.com) or by posting ideas on the message board.
  6. Anyone who is interested in becoming a member of the MGL is encouraged to contact the DBF Show hosts by the same means and by calling into the show at 646-595-2122.
  7. Josh Hastings will oversee the MGL for at least its first season under the DBFA in order to maintain the culture that we are trying to cultivate.
  8. Any current member of the MGL that wishes to remain in the league is guaranteed a position in the new MGL.
  9. An online Web store with DBFA merchandise will be set up through Cafe Press once new logos have been developed.
  10. Your input is greatly valued. Contact us with suggestions.
