It has been a while since the last OiL update, but not a lot had changed. Things are beginning to take shape, and it is time to update the members of the OiL.

On Facebook, MGL Commissioner Josh Hastings says that he will be overhauling the www.MansGame.net site, home of the MGL. He says he has writers lined up and will be posting fantasy football columns on the revamped site. The OiL wishes him well and looks forward to seeing the remodeled site. For those that do not know, Josh spends a considerable amount of time reviewing experts' fantasy football rankings and critiquing their findings. On top of being a host of the Dead Ball Foul Show, he co-hosts a Friday afternoon show on KXCA 1380 AM in Lawton.

The 2011 OklahomIraqis draft has been tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 27, 2011. The time is flexible, but we will be holding it at Mike's Sports Grille in Lawton. Last year, we had the OiL draft at Buffalo Wild Wings and the MGL draft at Mike's. Mike's offers a separate conference room and much more space. Aside from that, they're a local business.

If you cannot make it to the draft, do not fret. Although I would want nothing more than for everyone to attend the draft, I know that that is not possible. Yancy is in Kuwait, Trovillo cannot get off of work to come from Tennessee until the following weekend (when a number of OiL members will be at drill), Morgan cannot get off of work and there is always something else that comes up. The 2011 draft will be online so that everyone can at least participate remotely. There will be a draft party at Mike's and I hope that everyone else attends.

Josh says that the MGL trophy will be ordered today. For those of you who have not contributed to the fund for the DBFA and MGL trophies, please do so soon. You can donate via PayPal at the.adam.duffy@gmail.com, snail mail or at the draft.

The DBFA trophy arrived and is in the possession of the World War I winner, Josh Hastings' ThroatPunchers. It will be on display at the draft.

The schedules have been posted and will not change, so take a look at who you play in week one and start talking trash. You can look up your all-time records on this site, so go calculate your all-time record against your week one opponent.

Finally, it looks as if the NFL lockout is over. There will be a season. Now drink a beer and get ready for DBFA football.
