Week 13 in the OIL is Rivalry Week.
Here are your designated rivals for week 13 with short explanations (of course, other rivalries exist and will be tracked on your manager page):
Here are your designated rivals for week 13 with short explanations (of course, other rivalries exist and will be tracked on your manager page):
- Neely-Venable: Friends from way back who deployed together as Captain and First Sergeant
- Nye-Musselman: Roommates in Iraq; in same humvee
- Reed-Peacock: Comanche guys who go way back
- Brosh-Schuster: First Platoon guys always making everyone laugh
- Hillier-Green: Second Platoon guys; now co-workers at Goodyear
- Zerger-Roe: Third Platoon guys who deployed together twice
- Fitzgerald-Lynn: First Platoon guys; Lynn was Fitz's RTO (radio bitch) at FOB Falcon on Fort Lewis; both are officers now (Lynn went OCS); both have Fort Worth ties
Some very natural rivalries had to take a back seat to make everything work for week 13. For example, Hillier and Reed were roommates in Iraq and would make great rivals, but Hillier was the best fit for Green. Schuster could have been anybody's rival just about. I'm not sure what that says about him, but he'll have lots of guys gunning for him. Brosh could have been assigned to Marlow boy Hillier or Stephens County (and First Platoon) guy Peacock. Same with Lynn. It just works out best the way I have it above.
I'll create a schedule for 2015 prior to the season with these matchups as the week 13.
If you're curious what your other rivalries are, go to your manager page at okiraqi.org/[last name].
If there are any rivalries you feel I'm missing, let me know. We'll keep track of them on your manager pages for bragging rights.

- Cliburn-Duffy: worked together at UPS; wives are best friends
- Jessen-Rogers: were in a launcher together
- Leal-Morgan: were roommates in Iraq; Morgan beat Leal in 2007 OIL Bowl
- Cobb-Bruesch: two Third Platoon guys and former champions
- Baldwin-Finch: roommates in Iraq; roommates in Oklahoma
- Henderson-Trovillo: DARC NARCS (as in black narcotics officers) vs. Dirty Hippies . . . perfect
- Pyle-Schmidt: these two have been talking trash dating back to before the OIL and Iraq mission
Finally, the PFC's rivalries:
- Cordes-Straily: these two First Platoon soldiers spent 2006 at Camps Echo and Delta, respectively; they go way back
- Brake-Mitchell: these managers were both in Third Platoon and remain friends and rivals
- Pierre-Hodge: Both of these managers were NCOs in Headquarters Platoon in 2006; their good sense of humor and constant attention to detail benefited everyone in the company
- Buehre-McKay: this is another Third Platoon rivalry that goes way back
- Pennington-Tadlock: these FDC soldiers were not on the 2006 mission but made up for it on the 2008 Ramadi mission
- Gray-Bellar: these two soldiers were both in Second Platoon during the SECFOR mission
- Baldwin-Lutonsky: these two managers were never in the same platoon, but that's how the cookie crumbled
