PFC: Cliburn's Week Eight Preview
Wow! What a week in the PFC! We had three games decided by 0.7, 0.6, and 0.1. A new team ascended to the number-one position in the standings and got new uniforms along the way as well. Aaron Gray's Great Plains Drifters look like the class of the league in more ways than one. Week eight previews after the jump.
Team Tadlock vs. Nightmares
This matchup is full of disappointment. Tadlock started out 2-0 before limping to five straight losses. The Nightmares lost Jamaal Charles, and it was all downhill from there. They went from 4-0 and number one in the PFC to 4-3 in three short weeks. After this week, it looks like they'll fall to .500.
Blue Falcons vs. Boomtown Brawlers
These teams are only separated by one win, but the Falcons have won three straight. I think they win for two reasons: 1. they have Todd Gurley; and 2. the Brawlers will be without Carlos Hyde this week. Congrats to Derek Baldwin for his new-found success.
Dirty Dogs vs. Mechanics
This may be just the matchup Buehre needs to get back on track. His Dirty Dogs are facing a 1-6 Mechanics lacking wins and direction. Pierre is getting a trial by fire in his first season in the OIL . . . and that continues this week. The Dogs win this one.
Orangebloods vs. FDC Chiefs
Don't look now, but the Chiefs have three of four games since Stephen Pennington took over. They're facing a dangerous Orangebloods team that has been the victim of a lot of bad luck, so I'm not ready to give Pennington yet another victory.
SECFOR Sixers vs. The Xtreme
The Xtreme are on a four-game winning streak and face a scrappy Sixers team that is hanging on at 4-3. Bellar's team is a heavy favorite over Cordes's Sixers and they should be with Devonta Freeman leading the way.
Enforcers vs. Preppers
Up until this week, the Enforcers were the number one team in the PFC. They're facing the Preppers, who haven't made an add/drop all season (although they have changed their lineup). The Enforcers climb to 6-2 after this matchup.
Greasy Vandals vs. Great Plains Drifters
Gauthier's Vandals are a surprise 4-3 but they face the number one team in the PFC: Gray's Great Plains Drifters. With the Enforcers and Straily nipping at their heels, the Drifters need a big victory here. I think they'll get it.
