We are one quarter of the way through the season and there are some surprises thus far. The top six is comprised of team who are usually there and a couple of teams who are in unfamiliar territory. Let the second quarter of the season begin!

#3 Hard Targets vs. #2 Hangovers

#2 VS #3 this week! The matchup is a close as it gets. These two teams are almost dead locked this week and the outcome is basically a coin flip. Both sides have matchups I like and matchups I dislike. The fact I dislike the most is that the winner could potentially take over first place at the conclusion of the week. I flipped a coin and I see this one going to Hangovers in a tight one.

#6 Dead Again vs. #5 Whackers

Dead Again is the highest ranked of the 2-2 teams, and Whackers are the lowest ranked of the 3-1 teams. This is a very important matchup with playoff implications as both teams are fighting to stay in the playoff mix as we start the second quarter of the season. Both teams are coming off a win last week and this week’s matchup looks very close as well. Based on the matchups, I see Dead Again sneaking away with the upset this week.

#11 DARC NARCS vs. #4 Arrogant Americans

The Arrogant Americans enter this matchup riding a three game winning streak and I see it continuing this week. DARC NARC has struggled this season, from his draft strategy to player injuries to players just not stepping up. DARC NARC would be best served reminiscing about last year’s Cinderella season and completely forget about this year.  Arrogant Americans win this one by three touchdowns, and creeps closer to the top of the standings.

#13 AMMODOGS vs. #10 Norman Nobodies

Leal’s Norman Nobodies enter this week hoping to continue the momentum of a two game winning streak. Ammodogs just hope to stop the bleeding, having lost their first four games of the season. The good news for the Ammodogs is that they still aren’t in last place (not yet anyway). Decimated by injuries, bad trades, and bad luck (insanely tough schedule), the Ammodogs need a miracle to turn their season around. Unfortunately, I don’t see it happening this week as the Nobodies continue to surge with an easy victory.

#12 DominationStation vs. #9 Dirty Hippies

Jessen’s DominationStation vows to turn the train around and no longer be the caboose this week. Having lost three straight, the choo-choos get Tom “inflated balls” Brady back this week with a tough matchup with the Browns. The Hippies are coming off of a tough loss (less than 2 points) to the Hangovers and are looking to rebound and do the impossible, shut Jessen up! I don’t see it happening though. DominationStation will rebound and stop the losing streak, winning by two touchdowns!

#8 SoonerJack vs. #1 Lucky Enuf

SoonerJack has proven to be Lucky Enuf’s kryptonite over the last several seasons. SoonerJack destroyed Lucky Enuf twice last year, once in the regular season, the other, knocking Lucky Enuf out of the playoffs. Lucky Enuf enters the matchup 4-0 and in first place. SoonerJack on the other hand, enters with a record of 2-2 and in eight place. I feel this matchup will be much different than what yahoo projects. SoonerJack has a very solid mix of RBs and a WR group that scores sneaky points. I see SoonerJack overachieving and pulling the upset, putting himself right back into the playoff mix.

#14 Roughnecks vs. #7 Dogs of War

This matchup is just a mess! The Roughnecks have yet to find victory and The Dogs of War probably shouldn’t have… The one thing I have noticed is the fact that the Roughnecks have steadily improved and increased their scored output each week. This week they do it again and get their first victory against a Dogs of War team that is coming off a tough loss (less than 2 points) that they feel they should have won. Plagued by last minute injuries and byes, it will be too much for Cobb’s squad to overcome. Roll with the Roughnecks!
