NFC: Cliburn's Week Seven Preview
By Arrogant Americans Manager Justin C. Cliburn
Another week, another lost opportunity to knock Pyle off his perch. This time it was Finch trying and failing to knock off Lucky Enuf, who is now at 6-0 and two games ahead of the second-place team. This week it's the Hippies' turn to humble Pyle. Godspeed, Trovillo.
Game of the Week:
#6 Dirty Hippies vs. #1 Lucky Enuf
This is not only my game of the week; it's my uniform matchup of the week as well. As for the actual game, if Ben Roethlisberger were playing this week, I would give the Hippies a chance here. But Big Ben is out and Terrelle Pryor is dealing with a bad hammy. Look for Lucky Enuf's good fortune to extend another week. Pyle gets to 7-0, and the rest of us look forward to the next opportunity for Pyle to fall.
#8 Dead Again vs. #3 Dogs of War
This MFer Cobb just keeps on surprising doesn't he? Yahoo! gave the Dogs of War a draft grade of D, and Cobb hasn't shut up about it all season. Sitting at 4-2, he's getting mighty cocky for someone from Arkansas. Meanwhile, Schmidt is up in Idaho judging the rest of his sinners from afar. I'd love for Dead Again to knock the smirk off Cobb's face, but Schmidt has too many bye weeks (and not enough decent players to begin with). Cobb wins this one.
#11 Norman Nobodies vs. #4 Arrogant Americans
OIL Hour hosts Leal and Cliburn meet here in a crucial matchup for playoff positioning. Both teams are nearly full-strength, with no critical byes between them. The 'Mericans (my 'Mericans) are my pick in a very close matchup.
#10 Whackers vs. #7 Hangovers
The Hangovers are reeling after two-straight losses, the struggles of A-A-Ron Rodgers, and now the injury to Eddie Lacy. I'm picking Morgan's Whackers to pull off the mild upset here.
#13 AMMODOGS vs. #9 SoonerJack
Rogers's AMMODOGS notched their first win of the season last week. Sitting at 1-5, their playoff chances appear shot. But they're not giving up. SoonerJack is 3-3 and looks poised knock Rogers down to 1-6.
#14 DARC NARCS vs. #12 Roughnecks
Also obtaining their first W of the season last week were the Roughnecks. Now they face the new cellar-dwellar, Henderson and DARC NARCS . . . who have Cam Newton on a bye this week. Look for a second-straight win for Yancy.
#5 DominationStation vs. #2 Hard Targets
Jessen shot up five spots in the rankings this week, and he hasn't shut up about it. Don't believe me? Check the GroupMe chat:
See? You'd think he'd won the title already with that attitude. Well, I've got good news for everyone tired of his crowing: Finch is coming for that ass this week. Look for the Hard Targets to dominate DominationStation.
