A quarter of the way into the season, teams are starting to separate themselves. Bruesch beat the 'Mericans to claim the top spot in the standings (leapfrogging Henderson, who lost to the AMMODOGS). Five teams are 3-1 while another five are looking at 1-3 (with the Whackers getting their victory of the season last week). Those 1-3 teams (mine included) have their work cut out for them if they want to make the playoffs, but it can happen.

AMMODOGS vs. Dirty Hippies

The AMMODOGS are the highest-scoring team in the OIL but have a 2-2 record. The Hippies are the defending champs and sitting pretty at 3-1. But the Hippies have injuries and need big games from their stars. I'm picking Rogers here.

Lucky Enuf vs. Hangovers

The Hangovers are a surprising 1-3 while Lucky Enuf is 2-2. I can see Duffy's team pulling the upset, but I'm not counting on it. Look for Duff to make a move before the games kick off. That man will not take a 1-3 start lying down.

DominationStation vs. SoonerJack

This is a rematch of the 2011 OIL Bowl (won by SoonerJack), and I think it'll go about the same way. Bruesch is number one in the league. Jessen is 2-2 but has had the easiest schedule so far. Bruesch wins easily.

Roughnecks vs. Dead Again

This is my favorite uni matchup of the week. It's not the flashiest, but these are two good-looking teams. The contrasts do it for me. Even though they're not colorful, I love that nothing is the same color on one uniform as it is on the other: gold helmet vs. gray helmet; white jersey vs. black jersey; gold pants vs. silver pants; roughnecks vs. funeral directors. On the field, the Roughnecks are doing really well considering they lost Dez Bryant two weeks ago. Schmidt's team is reeling from injuries of its own and isn't as deep as Baldwin's. I'm picking the away team here.

Dogs of War vs. Norman Nobodies

Leal has positioned himself well through four games. He's 3-1 and boasts a very balanced roster, led by Tom Brady. Cobb's team is a shell of its 2013 self at this point. The Dogs of War just don't have any players that you can really count on. Accordingly, they're 1-3. Nobodies win this one.

Hard Targets vs. DARC NARCS

Henderson's DARC NARCS started out with a bang, going 3-0 over the first three weeks. But they were thumped by the AMMODOGS last week and are without Cam Newton (bye) for this week. I see Finch and the Hard Targets pulling the upset here.

Whackers vs. Arrogant Americans

This feels like an elimination game. Both teams are 1-3, but they each have a lot of talent. They're just not deep and that's hurt them with injuries, byes, and players not living up to their potential. But this the first time the Arrogant Americans have taken the field with Rob Gronkowski in their lineup. I see a big game for him and a narrow victory for the 'Mericans.
