NFC: Cliburn's Week 10 Preview
By Arrogant Americans Justin C. Cliburn
After nine weeks, 10 teams appear to still be in the playoff hunt, with three teams (Pyle, Cobb, and Finch) the primary competition for the two first-round playoff byes. Jessen is right on their heels and, if Finch and Cobb slip up, DominationStation could run the table and steal the second playoff seed.
Game of the Week:
#3 Hard Targets vs. #2 Dogs of War
If Finch wins this one, he's well on his way to securing a record fourth-consecutive first-round bye in the playoffs. But standing in his way is Cobb, who has won five straight. Both teams are dealing with bye weeks, but Finch's team has more depth. I'm picking the Hard Targets to finally humble Cobb.
#4 Arrogant Americans vs. #1 Lucky Enuf
The two other top-four teams meet in this matchup of former champions. Pyle is two games ahead of Cliburn at this point, and his team is clearly better at this point. As much as it pains me, the smart money is on Lucky Enuf to beat the 'Mericans.
#7 Dead Again vs. #6 Hangovers
As the Packers' fortunes have dwindled, so have the Hangovers'. But Duffy gets to play Schmidt this week, so look for him to win again this week.
#9 Norman Nobodies vs. #8 Dirty Hippies
These two teams have been up-and-down all season, but Trovillo's team is looking up. The Hippies win here.
#13 Roughnecks vs. #5 DominationStation
Jessen is on a roll. He wins here easily.
#11 Whackers vs. #10 SoonerJack
Bruesch's playoff hopes continue to grow smaller, and I pick Morgan to put a fork in them here.
#14 AMMODOGS vs. #12 DARC NARCS
This pillow fight has no playoff ramifications. Sad!
