AFC: Zerger's Week 12 Preview
In the previous 11 weeks, we've had one of two teams in first place: Brosh's Vultures or Lynn's Brewmasters (who play each other this week). But this week there is a new team in first place. Congratulations to Fitzgerald's Steel Reign on beating a tough Doughboys team. It was a great week in terms of matchups. Several teams used the Monday Night Football game to complete a comeback. The Cocks won their second game of the year, and won by less than two points. The Negligent Discharges own the longest current losing steak; that might be something to keep our eyes on.
Here are your week 11 results. Week 12 analysis after the jump.
#8 Sawtooths vs. #2 Doughboys
Reed and the Sawtooths have scored a whole lot of points throughout the season but their defense has been unable to get people off the field when it counts. The Doughboys had a rough loss against the Steel Reign but I think they get back on track this week and secure their playoff spot. I likeGreen in a big win.
#12 Hillier vs. #10 Hooligans
#11 Mutinous Apes vs. #7 Redlegs
Much like the Sawtooths, the Mutinous Apes have been putting up points all year long. But have been down on their luck in the end. Except this week. I think the Mutinous Apes beat the Redlegs and knock them out of playoff contention. This is being predicted as one of the closer match ups of the week and I think it will live up to the hype.
#13 Negligent Discharges vs. #14 Cocks
The Negligent Discharges come in losing seven straight games, but that all changes this week. I believe the Negligent Discharges overwhelm the Cocks and win big. I am sure that the Discharges bench Wes Welker and start Colston, just as sure as I am that the Cocks will bench Wilson and start Hyde.
#4 Brewmasters vs. #3 Vultures
This is a matchup that we have all been waiting to see this year. Both teams started out extremely hot and this game will be the high-scoring game of the week. The Brewmasters have some changes to be made in their lineup and once they do this game will most likely be a push. However, I like the Vultures in this one, when they are on, there is no one that can stop them and that will bot change this week.
#5 Rebel Alliance vs. #6 War Pony
The winner of this game will secure a playoff spot; the loser will be on the outs. However, with that being said, next week both of these teams face a rivalwith a worse record, so both can still make a playoff push. In this matchup, I think the War Pony have the advantage although it seems that the Rebel Alliance has finally gotten back to being healthy. The War Pony have a lot of options to put into their lineup this week. I like the War Pony in this one.
#1 Steel Reign vs. #9 Warm Bodies
This match up appears to be a close one as well, but I think things have just not gone the Warm Bodies way this year, and that one change this week. Steel Reign will hold onto their number one ranking and it will be a great game for them. I like the Steel Reign in this game.
