The good folks at Roberts Retreat Lodge say that Google's directions to the cabin are wrong. So following these instead:
HERE ARE THE DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
Unfortunately, Google Maps and Mapquest do not take you to the correct location with the address. From wherever you are located, you can google "Vamoosa, OK" and the property is only 4 miles East from there, so this will give you an approximate driving time. So first look up directions to Vamoosa, OK and then follow these instructions ...
•Off Hwy 377/99, turn EAST onto EW1400 Rd - there is a black sign with white letters “Vamoosa Baptist Church” where you turn (this road is directly on the N side of the Vamoosa Cemetery)
•Continue straight past the church on your Right, through the 4-way stop, stay to the Right when the road V’s (by the mailboxes on the right), and continue past the “Dead End” sign
•Turn Right into the Roberts Retreat gate entrance
•Go for ¼ of a mile and make your FIRST LEFT
•Continue on this road and take your FIRST RIGHT (do NOT go through the RED gates)
•Go through the black gate and continue to the Lodge
Good news, folks. Back by popular demand, the folks at Rate My League will be previewing all three OIL conferences after their Labor Day weekend drafts. Here is what they had to say about the NFC and AFC last season.
For reference, Rate My League ranked the contenders in the NFC, in order, to be:
The team they hated the most was the Whackers, who did finish in last place in 2015.
In the AFC, they predicted the following teams would be playoff contenders, in no particular order:
The 2016 draft is growing near. I've been asked by a few guys about a schedule. This weekend is mostly to relax and catch up with your brothers-in-arms, so there won't be a tight schedule. The place has ATV trails (bring your own ATV), TVs with DirecTV, a ping-pong table, a private lake, a shooting range, a barbecue grill, a large wraparound deck, and a fire pit. I will be bringing horseshoes, corn hole, and jumbo Jenga. There is plenty to do without putting everyone on a schedule. The following is all the events that matter:
Friday, 2 September 2016
Saturday, 3 September 2016
Sunday, 4 September 2016
Monday, 5 September 2016
Great news! FootballGuys just released the 2016 version of their Draft Dominator app. If you're asking yourself "WTF is the FootballGuys Draft Dominator?" then you have clearly missed out on a great tool the past few seasons. The Draft Dominator app is the absolute best tool to prepare for the draft. You can use it on iPad, iPhone, and Android phones and tablets.
Here's what FootballGuys has to say about their product:
OIL Draft to be held September 4th, draft weekend to run September 2-5.
Get ready for an epic draft weekend. After dealing with the hustle and bustle of Bricktown and Dallas last year, we'll be drafting at the Roberts Retreat in the serene woods of east central Oklahoma. We'll be on a private lake with sleeping for 32. The best part is that we'll be only 90 minutes from Oklahoma City. Don't worry about driving four hours to Tahlequah or Broken Bow. This is in the Konawa/Ada area.

Donate to the Cause:
The venue was pricey, but if everyone donates what they can, it'll be no problem. The total is $4,025 for three nights for all of us. We have about $850 in the OIL account to put towards the draft, and I will donate my fair share to the cause. That leaves $2,675 for us to raise. Please donate what you can. You can donate via PayPal or send me a check. It'll go into the OIL's checking account.
I know it sounds like a lot, but if we all donate one month of VA disability pay (if you receive it), we're golden. Whatever one month of disability or drill pay is for you, consider putting it in the OIL's coffers (unless you're Schuster and get your VA check delivered by a Brinks truck* every month). You won't regret it.
This location will include wifi, a fire pit, a full kitchen, a grill, a private lake, opportunities to boat and fish, ATV trails, and much more. EVERYONE is invited. I want to see all of you there.
Yahoo! Sports' video covering the 2015 OIL Draft has been named as one of five winners of the Associated Press Sports Editors' award for best long video. Congratulations to Ryan Dornbusch, Keri Barron, Jason Klabacha, Brad Williams, Victor Velazquez, April Tucker, Andy Behrens and the rest of the Yahoo! crew for their achievement. And thank you for telling our story.
I'm a little late posting these, but here are the photos I have of our reunion and draft party. I'm sure a lot more were taken, but these were the only ones in the Dropbox folder. If you have photos, you'd like to add, let me know.
It's time for football! The 10-year anniversary draft is over. There will be plenty of photos (and a Yahoo! video story) to come, but here's the results for each conference.
