VICE Sports just published an in-depth look at Yahoo! Fantasy headquarters. Check it out to learn how everything works behind the scenes. It's a good read.
Taking a cue from The D League, all OIL logos and uniforms are now available in one place on the OIL website.
By Team Tadlock Manager Derrick Tadlock After last weeks action there is a new number one atop the PFC. Team Tadlock barely managed to squeak out a victory over then number one GreatPlainsDrifters. The game came down to the Monday night matchup where Team Tadlock edged out a three point victory. There are no longer any undefeated teams in the PFC. The top two teams have only one loss each and the bottom two teams still only have one win each. #3 SECFOR Sixers vs. #1 Team TadlockGame of the week.
Team Tadlock is in the number one spot taking on the number three ranked SECFOR Sixers. This will be the first week Team Tadlock will be affected by any byes. Tadlock will start Keenum in the place of Winston. The Sixers will have all of their players available. Tadlock will also be without Jordan Reed who is injured. With that being said I am picking the Sixers to pull out a victory in this one. By Redlegs Manager Lance Zerger Last Week, we saw the Vultures fall out of 1st place due to their loss, giving the Redlegs the tie breaker due to points. Another thing to keep an eye out on, is that the Rebel Alliance and War Pony are seemingly hitting their mid season stride. They have won two in a row and have gotten them selves into playoff contention with almost half of the season gone. #4 Steel Reign vs. #1 RedlegsThis game is going to be really close as two of the top five teams face off. The Redlegs were favored early in the week, however due to the horrible showing or no show of Demaryius Thomas, the Steel Reign have gotten the upper hand in this match-up. This will go down to the wire.
By Arrogant Americans Manager Justin C. Cliburn Pyle's Lucky Enuf franchise is now the only unbeaten team left in the OIL. Meanwhile, Rogers and Baldwin continue their skid at 0-5, making the AMMODOGS and Roughnecks the OIL's only winless teams. Yikes. Even worse, Rogers's opponents are averaging 177 points per game. His schedule is not doing him any favors. #2 Hard Targets vs. #1 Lucky EnufThis is the game of the week: #1 vs. #2. This is Pyle's first real test and Finch's second big test in a row. Finch has a great team, but Pyle's is in a league of its own. Lucky Enuf gets to 6-0.
OKLAHOMA CITY — After over 10 years sporting their original Uncle Sam-inspired uniforms, the Arrogant Americans today unveiled a logo and uniform set that 'Mericans owner Justin C. Cliburn hopes will get the two-time champion franchise through the next 10 years. "The 'Mericans actually pre-date the OIL and came into existence as two wars were starting and America's place in the world was up for debate," Cliburn said. "The 'Uncle Sam flipping the bird' logo worked for that era as a tongue-in-cheek manifestation of the times. But, over a decade later, the logo has lost its punch. Four OIL Bowl appearances and two championships later, the franchise can afford to be more subtle in its bravado." The new logo, Cliburn noted, encompasses the spirit of a patriotism-inspired mascot in a much more subtle fashion — "in other words, we've dropped the 'in-your-face' image of Uncle Sam raising his middle finger," Cliburn said. The makeover includes dropping Uncle Sam entirely, replacing him with a stylized 'A' wearing an Uncle Sam hat. That precipitated a uniform rebranding as the Uncle Sam logo had graced the helmet, jersey, and pants from the beginning, Cliburn said. The redesign includes a new tertiary logo that incorporates both an 'A' and an American flag-style star, which is used in the new wordmark: The changes to the actual uniforms are more subtle, Cliburn said. "We've moved to the primary roundel logo on the pants hip, the secondary 'A' logo on the helmet and collar, and TV numbers on the sleeves," he said. "Further, we've moved from a very text-heavy "ARROGANT AMERICANS" on the front of the jersey to the shorter, cleaner "'MERICANS. The pants and jersey and helmet stripes remain the same, however." The franchise explained that it wanted to update the logo and uniforms before winning their third championship jersey in December. The redesign was developed by Michael Taylor Design.
By OIL Commissioner Justin C. Cliburn Well, look what we have here. My basic training, AIT, and Baghdad roommate is 4-0. Brosh also boasts the second-most points in the AFC. Combined with his 4-0 record, that puts him on the top of the heap a quarter of the way into the season. #6 Rebel Alliance vs. #3 CocksRoe and Peacock make up the game of the week. Despite the Cocks coming in ranked third, I'm picking Roe to win this one.
