After Trovillo and Duffy opened the floodgates, three more trades happened in rapid succession in the lead-up to week three. The DARC NARCS got their handcuff in Knile Davis. Lucky Enuf invested in Martavis Bryant, and the Arrogant Americans sent Chris Ivory-handcuff Bilal Powell and steady-Eddie WR Jeremy Maclin to the AMMODOGS for what Cliburn hopes is a buy-low, high reward WR in Brandin Cooks.
There has still yet to be a single trade in the AFC and PFC. You guys need to fix that.

Before looking at the week three matchups, let's give notice to the "biggest blowout" award for the week two matchups. Team Tadlock was awarded the "biggest blowout" for his teams performance against SECFOR Sixers. Team Tadlock picked up the third-highest point total by a player this week (38.90 points) from Tom Brady and destroyed SECFOR Sixers 178.90 to 88.20. This might become entrenched in league history, with the 90.70-point margin of victory being the highest recorded in the league this season. Free fallin' like Tom Petty: SECFOR Sixers suffered a significant drop in scoring from last week's 176.85 to 134.30 loss against Great Plains Drifters. When assigning blame following this loss, SECFOR Sixers can look in the mirror. They started a player with zero points (Roddy White). Team Tadlock (2-0, 331.80 points) moves into first place and SECFOR Sixers (0-2, 222.50 points) winds up in 13th place.
Like recently-deceased Yogi Berra once said, it's deja vú all over again. TE Jimmy Graham has been traded from the 2014 champion Dirty Hippies to 2015 hopeful Adam Duffy and the Hangovers in exchange for WR Davante Adams. TE Jared Cook will assume Graham's role in Knoxville.
There is a great video posted and circulating Facebook (or bookface) about our draft. Everyone is praising Justin C. Cliburn for his effort but you know what I see? I saw a man who distracted us by pretty things and lockers, so that he could drink all our beer while we weren’t there. How convenient that we weren’t allowed to drink during the draft. [Editor's Note: If that was my master plan, it didn't work. I'm 0-2.] However that did keep me from picking Ryne Sandberg in the first round for $500, right Alex?
Come from Behind This is how Sawtooths manager Reed does it: he snuck up from behind and took Steel Reign manager Fitzgerald down. Sawtooths WR Eric Decker went off with a Monday night performance for the ages. Of course, Sawtooths QB Andrew Luck contributed but it took him the full four quarters to do it (Luck finished with one touchdown and four turnovers). Closest Game I don't even like this guy, not even a little. But Negligent Discharges manager Schuster gets credit for sticking with and beating the Mutinous Apes by a slight 0.15 margin. Personally, I think a Discharges victory is bad for the league, but every now and then trash floats to the top. After the win Schuster yelled in my ear, “Hell, I just wanted to give everyone a head start!” before claiming he would go on to win the league. Cocaine is a hell of a drug. Can we talk about . . . . . . the Vultures? Brosh’s team scored over 190 points and beat the tar out of Hillier. Seems to me that there might be a little bit of cheating going on; I mean, wow, what a team. Great draft and great win for Brosh Two weeks into the season, nothing is set in stone. Remember that if, like me, you find yourself at 0-2. But only seven times in OIL history has an 0-2 team made the playoffs:
Two weeks into the season, nothing is set in stone. I need to keep reminding myself of that. The Arrogant Americans are 0-2 for the first time since 2006. And only seven times in OIL history has an 0-2 team made the playoffs:
I'm a little late posting these, but here are the photos I have of our reunion and draft party. I'm sure a lot more were taken, but these were the only ones in the Dropbox folder. If you have photos, you'd like to add, let me know.
EDIT: We had technical difficulties that we promise will NOT happen again. Therefore, this episode is 15 minutes long . . . even though Duffy, Leal and I spent two hours discussing the OIL. We also accidentally kept Duffy on screen the entire time, so I apologize if you get Duffy fatigue.
After a four-year absence, the OIL's weekly podcast is back. This time around, we'll stick to the issues in the OIL rather than fantasy football generally. We'll be broadcasting live via Google Hangouts and then posting the audio and video of the broadcast here. So, you can watch/listen live or you can check it out later. Our first episode aired Thursday at 1900 CST, but it will be at 1900 CST on Wednesdays after that. For today, we're calling it The OIL Hour but that is subject to change. Click here to listen to the first abbreviated episode: Congratulations to Aaron Gray's Great Plains Drifters for coming out of week one on top of the PFC standings. It's hard to believe the first-time fantasy football player is the number-one seed, but there he is. He knocked off Cordes's SECFOR Sixers easily. Here are the rest of the matchups with analysis of week two after the jump:
